"Three Coins in the Fountain"
~performed by Frank Sinatra
Writer(s): Styne/Chan

Three coins in a fountain
Each one seeking happiness
Thrown by three hopeful lovers
Which one will the fountain bless

Three hearts it a fountain
Each heart longing for its home
There they lie in the fountain
Somewhere in the heart of Rome

Which one will the fountain bless
Which one will the fountain bless

Three coins in a fountain
Through the ripples how they shine
Just one wish will be granted
One heart will wear a Valentine

Make it mine, make it mine, make it mine
Killing Me Softly with his Song
~the Rebecca Fleck version, not the Fugees one!

I heard he sang a good song
I heard he had a style
And so I came to see him
To listen for a while
And there he was this young boy
A stranger to my eyes

Strumming my pain with his fingers
Singing my life with his words
Killing me softly with his song
Killing me softly with his song
Telling my whole life with his words
Killing me softly with his song

I felt all flushed with fever
Embarassed by the crowd
I felt he found my letters
And read each one out loud
I prayed that he would finish
But he just kept right on

Strumming my pain with his fingers
Singing my life with his words
Killing me softly with his song
Killing me softly with his song
Telling my whole life with his words
Killing me softly with his song

He sang as if he knew me
In all my dark despair
And then he looked right through me
As if I wasnt there
But he was there this stranger
Singing clear and strong

Strumming my pain with his fingers
Singing my life with his words
Killing me softly with his song
Killing me softly with his song
Telling my whole life with his words
Killing me softly with his song
I'LL GO WITH YOU (Time to say Goodbye)
~performed by Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli

When I'm alone
I dream on the horizon
and words fail;
yes, I know there is no light
in a room where the sun is absent,
if you are not with me.
At the windows
show everyone my heart
which you set alight;
enclose within me
the light you
encountered on the street.

I'll go with you,
to countries I never
saw and shared with you
now, yes, I shall experience them.
I'll go with you
on ships across seas
which, I know
no, no ,exist no longer;
with you I shall experience them.

When you are far away
I dream on the horizon
and words fail,
and, yes, I know
that you are with me;
you, my moon, are here with me,
my sun, you are here with me.

I'll go with you
to countries I never
saw and shared with you,
now, yes, I shall experience them.
I'll go with you
on ships across seas
which, I know,
no, no, exist no longer;
with you I shall experience them again.
I'll go with you
on ships across the seas
which, I know,
no, no, exist no longer;
with you I shall experience them again.
I'll go with you,
I with you.

Broadways selections:
Aida -- I know the Truth
Rent -- One Song Glory
Without You
Seasons of Love
I should Tell You
(yeah, I love Rent.... !!!)
les Miserable -- On my Own (the one that performed by Lea Salonga--MUCH better than other versions out there)
Castle in the Cloud
Miss Saigon -- I still Believe
The Movie in my Mind
A Chorus Line -- What I Did for Love (great song, except I can't find any version I really like)
One (the theme song)
A chorus Line is one of the best musicals I have ever seen. The songs may not be the best, but it discusses social issues while keep the drama rolling. Much deeper than most of the other ones with only entertainment value.

Jay Chou.... Silence & Can't speak
Sun Yan-zi -- Olive Tree (Gan Lan Shu)
Sun Yan-zi is a uprising pop singer in Taiwan. This song is a reinterpretation of an oldie written in the 80s by a native-Taiwanese composer with a poem by one of my favorite authors. Here is an English translation written by me. I took some liberty in translating... The Chinese lyric is so much better, but I can't post Chinese online for some reasons.

Olive Tree
Lyrics by Echo Compose by Lee Tai-shang

Don't ask me where I am from
my land is far away from here
why I stray... across the distance... I stray

for the flying birds in the sky
for the singing crooks in the mountains
for the great prairie across the horizon
I stray....

and for the olive tree in my dream... the olive tree
don't ask me where I am from
my land is far from here

Why do I stray.... why....

Tori Amos -- Butterfly

*~* Butterfly *~*

Stinky soul get a little lost in my own
Hey General, need a little love in that hole of yours
So one ways now and Saturdays now and our kittens
all wrapped in cement
From cradle to gumdrops got me running girl as fast as I can
And is it right,
Butterfly,
they like you better framed and dried?

Daddy, dear, if I can kill one man why not two?
Well, nurses smile when you've got iron veins you can't stain
their pretty shoes.
And pompoms and cherry blondes
And the kittens still wrapped in cement
From God's saviours to gumdrops
got me running girl as fast as I can
And is it right,
Butterly,
they like you better framed and dried?

Got a pretty pretty garden; pretty garden, yes.

Jessica Simpson -- Did You ever Love Somebody

Did you ever love somebody so much that the earth moved?
Did you ever love somebody even though it hurt to?
Did you ever love somebody nothing else your heart could do?
Did you ever love somebody who never knew?
Did you ever lay your head down on a shoulder of a good friend, and then had to look away some how?
Had to hide the way you felt for them. Have you ever prayed the day would come, you'd hear them say they feel it too?
Did you ever love someone, who never knew?
I do.

And if you did. Well you know i'd understand.
I could, I would.
More than anybody can.

Did you ever love somebody, so much the earth moved? Did you ever love somebody, even though it hurt to?
Did you ever love somebody, nothing else your heart could do?
Did you ever love somebody, like i love you?
Like i love you.

Like i love you.

La Vie en Rose
A French classic, with gorgeous lyrics =)

Recommended artists for this song -- Louis Armstrong, Patricia Kaas, the instrumental from Sabrina, the movie

La Vie en Rose
Looking at Life Through Rose-Colored Glasses
Hold me close and hold me fast
The magic spell you cast
This is la vie en rose
When you kiss me, Heaven sighs
And though I close my eyes
I see la vie en rose
When you press me to your heart
I'm in a world apart
A world where roses bloom
And when you speak
Angels sing from above
Every day words
Seem to turn into love songs
Give your heart and soul to me
And life will always be
La vie en rose
I thought that love was just a word
They sang about in songs I heard
It took your kisses to reveal
That I was wrong, and love is real

Hold me close and hold me fast
The magic spell you cast
This is la vie en rose
When you kiss me, Heaven sighs
And though I close my eyes
I see la vie en rose
When you press me to your heart
I'm in a world apart
A world where roses bloom
And when you speak
Angels sing from above
Every day words
Seem to turn into love songs
Give your heart and soul to me
And life will always be
La vie en rose
